About This Site

Slightly More Upright is a little religion, a little sociopathy, a little bit country, a little bit rock n roll. It’s for those who question why people believe things without proof, why hardcore ideology exists and what exactly it all has to do with parietal lobe disconnection. Plus, some stuff pisses us off so severely, we just have to vent, like 2M other folk online.

  1. A question concerning your logo:

The progression starts with a very upright monkey, suddenly drops into a gorilla-postured figure, and then slowly progresses back to upright.

Is the uprightness of the monkey deliberate, e.g. as a self-ironic stab at humanity? (As opposed to a vanilla monkey that just was coincidentally upright.)

A fair question, and one that has plagued mankind since the first introduction of the first “Theory of Evolution — The Cartoon.”

Initially, the prevailing theory on the upright monkey was that he represented a sort of post-modernist schadenfreude, gleefully dancing upright as his ancestors digress into the mire that will become the modern social miasma.

But lately, I’ve just come to believe that I suck at drawing stick figures and it was easier to do him that way.
